On November 1st, Poland introduced mandatory electronic registration for foreign carriers, including Ukrainian ones.

Carriers are required to register their transportations in the Electronic Monitoring System (SENT) before crossing the Polish border, regardless of the type of cargo being transported.

Additionally, the driver of the vehicle must always carry the SENT registration number RMPD or a substitute document with them.

Companies from countries outside the EU, Switzerland, and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) must also ensure continuous transmission of the vehicle’s geolocation data.

The truck must have a locator or an external localization system, and the driver is required to activate the locator before the start of transportation.

Penalties for violations of these new requirements are specified for both drivers and carriers:

For drivers:

  • 15,000 UAH – for the absence of a registration number.
  • 20,000 UAH – for a disabled locator or refusal to check geolocation data.

For carriers:

  • 120,000 UAH – for transportations without registration or with inaccurate data.
  • 100,000 UAH – for the absence of geolocation data or a locator.
